Otto Gerlach (* 1862 in Leipzig; † 1908 in Teheran)
"Otto Gerlach studied at the Leipzig Academy under Ludwig Nieper and at the Berlin Academy under Anton von Werner and Otto Brausewetter. He was a globetrotting graphic artist working for various newspapers, travelling the world’s war zones. Similarly, he spent the months covering the Russo-Japanese Campaign in Manchuria. In 1908, he was producing graphic reports of Rudolf Zabel's motor rally through Persia, and died in Teheran in a car accident."[1]
